One of Avraham's (Abraham) tests, in which G-d him to sacrifice his son Yitzchak (Isaac). Avraham brought his son to the location that G-d commanded and bound him on the altar, at which point G-d commanded him to stand down. Described in Bereishis Ch. 22. Also known as "Akeidat Yitzchak," or simply "the Akeidah."
