Joseph Ber (Yosef Dov) Soloveitchik (1903-1993) was one of the pre-eminent Torah scholars and Jewish thinkers of the 20th century, and a long-standing Rosh Yeshivah of Yeshivah University's Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary. Not to be confused with his great-grandfather (Beit Haleivi) or cousin (R. Berel Soloveitchik) who were also important rabbinic figures and both shared his full name.
