The 10 commandments are very different in terms of the information (details) provided, some are not detailed at all (like לא תרצח, לא תגנוב) some lack details but the reward is described (כבוד אב) and some are very detailed (לא תחמוד).

Another way of seeing that is by counting the words: enter image description here

What could be an explanation for such a big difference between the commandments?

  • I'm theorizing on its G-dly origin, what am I expecting to receive from a super-intelligent source. Uniformity is one of them - an equal amount of information per commandment. @WAF – Al Berko Feb 9 at 22:20

Is there any precedent for such uniformity in the Torah that would lead to that expectation or an argument from the operative theory of super intelligence? – WAF Feb 9 at 22:22
  • @WAF the second was Moses recitation (from memory?) – Al Berko Feb 9 at 22:22
  • @WAF You extrapolate my question to the whole Torah. I agree there's none, and that's very suspicious. If the Torah's the source of our Halacha (th 613 Miztvos), why the commandments are not represented in a uniform way? – Al Berko Feb 9 at 22:24
