Why did Yehoshua (Yehoshua 24,25), Yoyada hakohen (2 Kings 11:17), Yoshiyahu hamelekh (2 Kings 23:3) cut a covenant with the people when it was already done at Sinai?

My question is inspired from Why was there a covenant cut with the benei Yisra'el at Sinai, then at Chorev, and yet again at Mo'av?

I have a better question: why have a covenant at Sinai with Jacob's descendants if Laban already made one? – msh210 Sep 14 at 7:08
  • @msh210 "Laban already made one"? I did not know that Laban made one, but let us say Laban (who is not a descendant of Israel) made one, why is that "a better question"? – ninamag Sep 14 at 9:20
  • So your question IS a dupe then. – Al Berko Sep 14 at 10:00

When you work in a company, how many contracts can they sign with you? is it limited? To make a real question, you'd want to add a reason why a covenant cannot be remade. – Al Berko Sep 14 at 10:03
  • @AlBerko I don't know if "a covenant cannot be remade". Is that what they are doing in the above quoted passages in my question? – ninamag Sep 14 at 15:22
