Some topics are not a good fit for Mi Yodeya. It's sometimes better to post on a Jewish forum or mailing list instead.

A few years ago, Hashkafah.com (also known as "H.com") was host to a thriving set of dozens of Jewish forums. There were tens of thousands of threads in the database.

By now, those dozens of forums have been moved into a section called "The Archives (Read Only)" where it is impossible to post. It is now possible to post only in three forums on the site. The site is now far less active: lately, users have been starting only a few threads per month.

Something drastic must have happened at some point. Sad.

I wonder: Where have the old Hashkafah.com regulars moved to?

I tried various Google searches, but I didn't find an answer.

Of the old Hashkafah.com regulars who have moved to another forum in the past few years, it seems to me that the majority have moved to iShtetl.

A post by H.com user "ijs" confirmed my hunch that many users had left within the last few years. A post by H.com user "33948" inspired me to investigate the hypothesis that most moved to iShtetl.

My investigation led me to believe that the hypothesis is probably correct. I do not want to exhaustively describe everything I discovered, but I shall share three facts. 1. Dozens of iShtetl threads make reference to "H.com". 2. It appears that zero YWN Coffee Room threads and zero Jewswithquestions.com threads include any such references. 3. iShtetl founder "Xi'le" has pointed out that it is forbidden on iShtetl for you to use the same name as a H.com user other than yourself.
