There are some ideas or traditions that have been widely accepted amongst religious Jews that either have no Jewish source (I know this is vague, as there may be a source for anything), were developed due to a misunderstanding, or are straight forward against halacha or Jewish philosophy.

For example: bouncing on the tip toes after completing the 3 steps after shmoneh esrei.

What other ones do you know of?

Any possible answer will be controversial to someone who thinks the practice is actually based in Judaism. Eg. upsherin judaism.stackexchange.com/a/13208/759
