I am looking for sources on the Vilna Gaon and the Besht were reincarnations of?

From all of what I do know about reincarnations it is extremely unlikely that they WERENT reincarnations.

What is it you know about reincarnation that indicates it is extremely unlikely that they weren't reincarnations? How do you know it? – Double AA Aug 14 at 10:30

Reincarnations? Where does the Torah mention that? Where does your knowledge of the subject come from? – Danny Schoemann Aug 14 at 11:21
  • How could anyone today know who anyone is a reincarnation of – robev Aug 14 at 12:00
  • The Gemorrah is Ketubot 111A speaks of Gilgul. There are people with big hasagos who were able to understand of whom they were a gilgul. The most recent I have heard of are Rebbi Yehuda Petaya and The Ben Ish Chai. Some claim that the Gr"a was a gilgul of Rav Hai Goan. – Meuchedet Aug 14 at 20:24
  • The gemara does not mention the concept of gilgul at all . In fact Rav Saadya Gaon rejects such an idea in strong terms ,see his Emunos V'deos. Now to answer this question I believe there is a sefer which mentions who is who and which gilgul they are from ,have to find it – sam 2 days ago
