I How do we have this question about rabbis romans ands'micha today if the second templeRomans broke the chain?

I heard that romansRomans broke the smicha chain for one to be a proper rabbi in the old sense, and I heard that rabbis started after the second temple was destroyed. So i'm confused, the two things I heard sound contradictory to me

What is correct?

Note- Al Berko completely rewrote my question, and made it less relevant to the site than it was and changing what I was saying, and led to another close vote, his rewrite should not have been approved. I was not simply asking about the term rabbi. I did not say the smicha chain was broken.. I don't know if it was, I have contradictory information on that.

Short and specific. (Let's use one spelling for Semicha at a time)
