May 19, 2016 at 19:23 comment added Monica Cellio @DanF the halacha question belongs here. You could separately ask the scientific question elsewhere, and it seems like people evaluating the halacha would need to understand the science. But you asked a question that's on-topic here, so no need to migrate. Feel free to ask a question about how, and how reliably, a DNA test could show specifically matrilineal Jewishness elsewhere. Meanwhile, I'm moving that conversation to chat; people interested in the science of this should look there for more.
May 19, 2016 at 18:19 comment added DanF @MonicaCellio I had not intended that this would become a bit more of a scientific discussion, based on many of the comments. Should this question be migrated to one of the other Stack Exchange forums? If so, which one?

May 18, 2016 at 18:29 comment added LN6595 @DanF I am referring to the statistical reliability of the genetic tests.
May 18, 2016 at 17:55 comment added DanF @LN6595 Are you referring to statistics on how many children were adopted? Why would this matter? My question is meant to be general and not specific to child Holocaust survivors.
May 18, 2016 at 17:48 comment added LN6595 Your question would be improved by the addition of some more background information or statistics, such as reliability percentages.
