Oct 28, 2015 at 1:17 | comment | added | DanF | @hazoriz I mentioned those other events b/c, as you can tell, the answer focuses only on the saying of a specific bracha that is only during Sheva Brachot. True, the reasoning may be similar, but, that's not necessarily implied by your source.
Oct 27, 2015 at 23:22 | comment | added | hazoriz | @DanF "weddings, Bar Mitzvah and otherseudei mitzvah" I do not see anything about non mitzvah event
Oct 27, 2015 at 23:13 | comment | added | hazoriz | @DanF I do not see a difference, the source I brought was about sheva brochois ( not sposificly wedding as is seen from the bach), but I do not understand why other simchas should be different it seems that it is always recommend not to happen
Oct 27, 2015 at 15:50 | comment | added | DanF | @hazoriz Reminder about item 2. And, to add to your "challenge", my question is more general. I said "simcha" which includes other events besides weddings. E.g. - Bar mitzvah, brit, siyum, and even a "non-mitzvah" event such as fund-raisers and yeshiva dinners, etc.

Oct 26, 2015 at 15:37 | comment | added | hazoriz | @DanF 1) by hirhurim it has a ש in my understanding is that it can only be understood as inevitable (it is a reason not a condition) (how can it mean condition if it is impossible to check) 2) you are right I will edit my answer
Oct 26, 2015 at 15:25 | comment | added | DanF | I decided to downvote for two reasons - 1) There is a "condition" attached to the mized seating, namely stating "Hirhurim sham", which implies that there are "improper thoughts". While, the statement may imply that such thoughts may be inevitable in a mixed seating environment, this is not always the case. 2) It doesn't answer my question if separate seating is required. This just suggests that a phrase in benching must be omitted. OK, so you omit it, if needed. It doesn't state that such omission is required in bentching.
