Kedushas Levi quotes Targum Sheini that Haman requested that Mordekhai kills him personally so that nobody sees as fitting for a minister of the king it rather than be executed publicly. This would give grounds to suspect that Haman's letter accusing the Jews was true. Mordekhai refused Haman's request, and the fact that Haman was hanged publicly at the order of the king also showed that Haman's letter against the Jews was not true!!! (I.e. Mordekhai ensured that the public execution be carried out). This is brilliant and should be the answer. You may copy into your answer.
