It is true that right and left are opposite positions, but the objects within them do not attain opposite status. Rather than the statement “Gevurah and Chessed are polar opposites”, a correct statement would be “Geburah and Chessed EXIST in polar opposite LOCATIONS”, whatever that means in a high-level spiritual sense. | |

That Chesed is the path of the right מפי החסד, while Gevurah is the path of the left מפי הגבורה. Please note that Moshe Rabbeinu received the Torah מפי הגבורה. | |

Consider for example, the name of 72 triplets that we learn from Moshe Rabbeinu. The 2 polar extreme opposites are Chesed and Gevurah. The middle path between the two poles, הממוצע המחבר ביניכם, the connecting link between them is Tiferet תפארת, Beauty, which reveals G-d’s Crown of Kingship פאר תורה ופאר תפלה, the Crown of Torah and the Crown of Prayer. But if you look at sources discussing this, midrash and Chassidut, it seems focused on only the Gevurah, the left, being effected. Even though it remains distinct as Gevurah, it expresses & is perceived as Chesed. Consider the text of Kiddush HaLevanah & how the words are read right to left and then left to right. This is also related to רצו ושוב. | |

Inversely, starting with the left and moving right is associated with the opposite of kindness. This principle pertains to G-d’s name of 72 triplets among many other things. | |
