Holidays instituted would need to be similar to the Sabbath to be in contradiction to penalty. I can't imagine non-Jewish holidays being a good idea if you believe in Judaism but they don't rest like we do... | |

Like even if a person doesn't do anything in a day, not knowing anything about the reality of a Jewish Sabbath, he is not wrong since he didn't do it to identify himself as a Jew. Now the question is really about instituting holidays, do holidays as they are in the world hurt any principle of not keeping the Sabbath? | |
