comment Gun control in Judaism
@Nafkamina heh yeah, I think the reason folks are using the comments section, is because these aren't actually answers, only suggestions on where to look next

comment Gun control in Judaism
Bava Batra 25 might be a good place to start: keeping nezikin out of cities. I doubt that there was any notion of "weapons control" per se in anything but modern times

comment Why do we find specifically “Rambamists” as opposed to any other Posek?
What about followers of the Gra? Not sure whether they would match Rambamists in degree.

comment Intent to include foods in bracha that exist only as ingredients
@DanF I updated the question to clarify -- specifically, the food does not exist in the form in which it will be consumed, at the time of the bracha/intent

comment Is there a concept of a “Makom Kavu'ah” in a public area?
Weeeird... well, you can start with the fact that, if I understand correctly, makom is within 4 amos, so the adjacent seats would also be OK. But in a scenario when someone asks me to do something I think is crazy, and it doesn't inconvenience me, I usually do it unless I actually object in principle.

comment Are there any authorities who hold that one must be a zionist?
I feel like this question is chasing its own tail. There's no halachic status of "being a Zionist." Zionism could imply certain beliefs and practices; it's rather too ambiguous for a question IMO

comment Are you allowed to extract buried Shemos?
Isn't the whole principle of burying Shemot, at least in revealed Torah, so that they shouldn't come to be disgraced? If so, I can't see the problem in exhuming them.

comment Source that “Yehi Khevod” should be said with special intensity
R' Shimon Schwab in the book of his shiurim on prayer, says that this is "of an especially elevated nature, and therefore one should try not to omit it," but doesn't actually speak about how one should say it.

comment What is Nivul Peh and who decides what it is
R' SR Hirsch in Horeb speaks about vulgar speech... I don't have my copy to hand, but I'll try to come back to this at home

comment Is it permitted and possible to convert a Christian to Judaism without approaching rabbinical authorities?
Yeah, it's theoretically possible, but it wouldn't carry weight - converts via actual legit authorities have enough problems with credentials

comment Do I have to check my fruits and vegetables [for insects] before I put them in a smoothie?
To focus the question: would blending such fruits be considered "mevatel issur le-chatchillah," which is not permitted.
