+1 Further, the Rambam brings the idea that Adam, Cain, Abel, and Noach all built altars on that site. According to this, it seems unlikely that Noach's son Shem didn't know/appreciate the significance of the location, and if he did, did he have an altar? And if he didn't, why not?
