comment Reconciling the evidence for the Uncertainty Principle with belief in an omniscient G-d
@jake The central theme of those links is that limiting G-d to logic essentially means G-d is not infinite or omnipotent. I'm still working (admittedly not very actively) on finding primary sources, though. My main purpose in pointing out those links was to assure you that I have backing for my assertion.

comment Does artificial meat grown in a petri dish have the halachic status of meat?
@avi unfortunately, the gemara only seems to talk about whether they are kosher or require shechita and/or nikkur. I can't find anything regarding whether they were halachically meat or not.

fascinating! I was aware that this was (biblically) allowed, but I was unaware that it had ever been done. Source?

I'm curious if this is at all comparable to case in the gemara sanhedrin where R' Yochanan and Resh Lakish would create cows through kabbalah. Also, there's another gemara in sanhedrin where meat fell from heaven. Are those halachically meat?

comment Asking From Angels Borchuni Lshalom
I don't think this is an issue at all. Can only G-d give blessings? Tzaddikim give blessings, kohanim give blessings, and stam Yiddin give blessings too. I doubt the Rambam is referring to blessings at all.

comment What did Sephardic Jews do when yibum required taking a second wife?
@GershonGold I would guess Shalom is asking about a case where there is no such exclusion

comment Why did Gechazi go first?
The question is not (I think), why did Gechazi fail, but rather why he was even sent in the first place.

@jake. Also, see Shmuel Brills answer, and the link there, as well as his comment.

@jake, the previous comment is also for you, but I forgot to add the reference. Looked here for an article that addresses the rock question specifically.

Unfortunately, I have been unable to locate some good primary sources on this topic. I will continue to try to find some, though. This idea is very common within chassidus, and I would imagine, kabbalah as well. Here's an interesting secondary source, that goes even further than what I've said.

@jake. I may not have a chance to respond for a bit bc of limited access to internet. I will try to so some research in seforim and on my mobile. rest assured that this is not my own sevara, and is well sourced, mostly in chassidus if I'm not mistaken. You're right though, this doesn't fit so well with classical chakirah.

jake, Whew. Fascinating stuff. A totally different perspective than I'm familiar with.

comment What's the deal with all the washings?
To add to the confusion, I'm aware that there are certain chassidic families who wash four times.
