@Moshe you did say: "be allowed to buy him", which is not the same as "will the kinyan take effect?".

@avi and Maxood, This comment thread really should be permanently moved to chat.

@avi, Absolutely true. If you have a separate reason to believe that it did not occur. But even then, it can never be decisive enough to argue that he couldn't/didn't do <x>. Unless one has a tradition that <x> did/didn't happen, one can only state probabilities.

@avi, I agree that it's not vital, but even if it were, you can't expect every vital Jewish practice to be recorded by each person in the Torah. The Torah is not a history book, but a book of teaching (m'lashon horaah). Even if the person is as great and as notable as Avraham, it doesn't mean that you have to teach every lesson by him.

comment Should anyone be burned to death?
@Ron It's got nothing to with courage. They won't denounce because they don't believe it's wrong. We believe that right and wrong are concepts that only have meaning because G-d gave them meaning. Otherwise you have "relative morality" which is always subject to change. If G-d says "Thou shalt do <x>", then <x> is morally right. Always. Period.

@Ron If you do believe in absolute ethics, then who do you believe determines those ethics?

comment Kissing tzitzit for full shma during “leolam yehey”
Please consider adding some more information to your question. For example, explain more about why someone would say Shema at that time, where we say "Leolam Yehey", etc. Try to add as much detail to your question as possible.
