What is the difference between dati, chasidish, and charedi? The culture in the US is certainly different, I say as a Chasid with a job. Few in my community study in Kollel for more than a year or two. In Israel it is different. As for "joining the army is viewed as if you are abandoning the Torah" I must disagree with you. |

Was “correcting” left-handed children something traditionally done by Jews? If so, that would strengthen the point. "correcting" a lefty to make him a righty was clearly not preferred if in this case he did the exact opposite. |

Does a fathers obligation to teach his sons a parnassah extend to his daughters too? A woman is not required to stay at home. Neither is she prohibited from working. There are examples in the Gemara of women engaging in commerce. |

Does a fathers obligation to teach his sons a parnassah extend to his daughters too? Actually, as I said above, the Gemara and the Pasuk make it clear that the obligation to marry off your children applies to both sons and daughters. The obligation to teach a Parnassah is learned out from a Passuk comparing it to the obligation to marry off your children. It is not at all clear to me that this should apply only to sons. |
