comment How does sesame oil differ from grapeseed oil?
From Halachically Speaking 4 (10) by Rabbi Moishe Dovid Lebovits Cottonseed oil is extracted from the seeds of the cotton plant after the lint is removed. The Minchas Yitzchok is unsure about its usage for Pesach. Horav Shlomo Zalman Aurbach zt”l says the custom is to refrain from using it. The Tzelhmer Rav zt”l was lenient. The custom in Eretz Yisroel is to be stringent and avoid using it, but in America it is permitted, following Horav Moshe Feinstein zt”l, Horav Yaakov Kamenetsky zt”l, and all the Rabbonim who came from Europe.

comment Rabban Gamliel says we must mention moror at the seder. Is it just a word association?
@joshwaxman If you want to prove that the Korban Pesach is "pass-over-ly" you have to give a causal connection. "..**perhaps** in its merit" does not quite satisfy.

comment Rabban Gamliel says we must mention moror at the seder. Is it just a word association?
Because 12:23 explicitly links the actions associated with the korban (He will see the blood) to the passing over which 12:27 does not do explicitly.

Thank you, fascinating. I was learning the mishna with a chavrusa in shul and said that the mishna was punning. Someone sitting behind was unimpressed by the term punning. But it seems from your answer to be justified.

I cannot answer your question. But interestingly the Yomim Noraim Machzorim have the word לחיים (as in for example זכרנו לחיים) vowelized with a patach under the lamed.)

@DoubleAA The forum is now at: kayj.net/en/forum/category/list. I can't see the continuation of the link that I put up Aug 29, '11. If you could find it, then we might be able to find the item in the forum. I tried unsuccessfully.
