comment Collecting Tzedakah from someone who may (or may not) be mentally incompetent
The question allows for someone "incapable of making a wise decision" (tag shoteh) to fulfill the Mitzvah of Tzedakah? Who says he can fulfill the mitzvah?

comment Mezuzah letters touching causing bad luck?
May Hashem protect from all ill and bless you. There do seem to be special properties of mezuzot but mezuza is only one mitzva; there are many more!

comment Saying Misod and Reshut (introduction) for piyutim, then skipping them
@msh210 So how do we understand Gavi's answer? (1) Rav Eliyashiv says nothing at all about this practice. (2) Rav Eliyashiv mentions this practice but does not call it a minhag. If (2) I would like a source. In addition, I find it difficult to believe that Roshei Yeshivoh were guilty of "amaratzus, plain and simple" and that "bochrim were talking too much during piyuttim". So I will vote this answer down in the absence of any evidence for either of its points.

The context of the quoted article is olive oil. But I have emailed Star-K asking them.
