What Bracha should you say on a Hurricane? I can often see a lightning flash from an approaching storm before the storm is close enough to hear the thunder. You don't need to see the lightning bolt itself to say the beracha - even seeing the flash on the walls of the room you're in is sufficient. |

What Bracha should you say on a Hurricane? Baruch Hashem, I've never actually been in a hurricane (despite having lived on the east coast). Though I have felt earthquakes, they've never been strong enough for me to be sure they were earthquakes without hearing about them on the news (despite having lived in California.) |

When can Melavah Malkah be eaten until? remove "Simon" in "Kaf HaChaim Simon 300:14". This is to avoid confusion of the word "siman" with the name of the sefer. I'd lowercase it, but the word is unnecessary. |

Rambam, Mashiach, and Olam Haba @Ariel: I understand that. I just don't want to learn one opinion while remaining completely ignorant of the other. |

Bathing before Shabbos Chazon -1: David Bar-Hayim is not speaking specifically to Sepharadim and Mizrachim. He's trying to invent a "minhag eretz yisrael", and some of his psakim in doing so are directly intended to uproot Minhag Ashkenaz, for example this one permitting kitniot on pesach for all Jews. If you have any respect at all for the concept of mesorah, you should ignore what he says. |

Why the split between Sefardim and Ashkenzim? The consistency thing you note is actually reversed today. Because of the way the (non-Chassidic) Ashkenazic torah world rebuilt itself after the holocaust, you can see much more consistency among Ashkenazim than you can see among Sepharadim. |

Six fast days? What's the sixth? Here's an example of Chamesh Taaniyot (5 fasts) like I would have expected. |

'fixed' wording of the g'mara justified by found mss.? @Curiouser: I looked it up, and it seems I misremembered. |
