Things we do not do because of Danger Dreadlocks?! He's probably referring to Polish plait (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish_plait). |

What does it cost to write one's own Sefer Torah - and how long would it take? Also, in terms of time, how many hours would you estimate it took? I know a sofer who would like a new set of parshiyos for his tefillin, but doesn't have the time to write them himself! |

Tefillin under Bar Mitzvah I'm not asking about a specific child, this is a theoretical question... |

Things we do not do because of Danger Yes. I think that is why some people drink a shot of shnapps after the fish at the Shabbos meal. Though there might also be other motivations for that... |

Tefillin under Bar Mitzvah The precedent would be the fact that basically every other mitzvah is included in the obligation of chinuch. It is difficult to apply the principle of "Al Titosh" here, because most children are indeed incapable of properly observing this mitzvah. But there is no evidence (to my knowledge) of a specific tradition to forbid wearing tefillin before age 13. |

“Jumping” at the end of Shemoneh Esrei Actually, the Rema mentions the minhag for Kedushah in Orach Chaim 125:2 (from Tur and Shibolei Haleket). The Nefesh HaChayim adds some "flavor" to the minhag by explaining that it symbolizes the connection between our actions and the spiritual world (or something like that - I haven't looked it up recently). In any event I don't remember it being said in the context of "taking shots at Chassidim." |

Composition of Sofer's ink So the "hechsheirim" on those markers and little paint applicators are actually superfluous? |

Not Kissing our Tzitzis on Tisha Bav in Shacharis Is there any real source for not kissing tzitzis on Tisha B'av, or is it just the "minhag ha'olam"? |

Vacuuming during the Nine Days That citation refers to waxing specifically. He compares it to painting ("tziyur v'kiyur"), since its purpose is to beautify rather than to clean or protect. By contrast, WRT mopping floors he is explicitly lenient (11:8), for the reason I mentioned earlier -- namely, the decree extends only to fabrics, not to solid items. (However, the note on the bottom clarifies that it would nevertheless be wrong to do this for purposes of beautification alone.) |

Arba'a Veshishim - mi yodeya? YDK: Makes sense, but last time I tried that, the system urged me to combine the second answer with the first. I suppose you're saying that's not really the policy here... |

Arba'a Veshishim - mi yodeya? I guess it could be relevant, if someone has ketores and wants to know how much fruit-honey he can add before it reaches the level of "ein adam yachol laamod bah mipnei reychah." |
