A qualified chemist who somehow drifted into web development. I've learned (to a greater or lesser degree of accuracy) PHP and JavaScript, and would like to learn something completely different for the sake of it. I'm a weirdo who actually enjoys reading (and sometimes writing) technical documentation.

comment Is there meaning in the name Miyah?
@Daniel. It probably came to attention recently because I mentioned it in chat.

comment May Conversative man “up-convert” to marry Orthodox girl?
I would suggest that a man would be better off marrying a woman, rather than a girl.

revised Is it wrong not to wear a bra?
Tidied grammar. Reformatted Wikipedia quote a little (omissions from one sentence left it meaningless, so I restored the elipsis).

I'm not sure I'd call it "fluffy": I'd call it too neat to be credible.

I should have guessed that, @H3br3wHamm3r81.

comment Why did Dan attack and kill the people of Laish?
I think that the last paragraph would be better split off and asked as a separate question, but that's just my personal opinion.

revised Can we argue with gedolim when we are sure that we are right?
their, there. "Ultimately ... also" read oddly to me, as if the sentence was leading up to saying that the authority of the posek was the *deciding* factor, but then pulled back from that. I left the two factors equal. (There are times I'm glad my edits are only suggestions.)

comment Is is wrong to be racist?
You have described a racist belief system. You now insist that it is not actually racist, but refuse to give any reasons or evidence to back up that assertion. Vague appeals to "nuance" are meaningless.

comment Does one make a Bracha when seeing the Pope?
@J.C.Salomon. There does seen to be a popular conception that princes serve under kings, but this is not necessarily true. Both Monaco and Andorra are principalities, ruled by a princes who are monarchs in their own right. (Andorra is a bit of a special case, mind you.)
