“Carrying” items without an eruv Are there any more "primary" sources that discuss this? |

“Carrying” items without an eruv @msh210 I feel like the sources are still pretty narrow (head coverings and talitot), even the MB does not give a general rule for all clothing, just in that one case. |

Removing facial hair by laser treatment (for a man) I seem to recall that there were people that used some sort of paste to get rid of facial hair. It took off quite a bit of skin as well, but I am pretty sure it was halachically OK. |

Making mistakes in shemone esri @YDK Good point. I guess I should edit it to ask how many mistakes it takes until shemone esri is invalid, and then what should be done at that point. |

Carrying in a partially shared apartment on Shabbat I hear what you are saying, but I do not believe that that is correct. |

Carrying in a partially shared apartment on Shabbat @ba I'll copy it when I go to minyan tomorrow (I don't have a local copy either) |

Carrying in a partially shared apartment on Shabbat I mean that it is all the same reshut and that that reshut is a reshut haychid, not that it is many different reshuts |

Origin of the nine days I hear your answer, and it makes sense, except that is mandatory, and not just meritorious. I realized when reading your answer that there was more to it, and then updated my question. Sorry for the confusion. |

Origin of the nine days I would understand if it really was "Whoever does more- harei ze messhubach" but my understanding is that it is mandatory. Additionally, it would seem that there are two mourning "periods." 1) laundry 2) eating meat and drinking wine. What you are mentioning only refers to the first one. Perhaps I should expand the question to note this. |

Origin of the nine days @DoubleAA I think you are definitely right about it being a custom, and thanks for the edits |

Origin of the nine days @DoubleAA, thanks for the info, and edited. It is one thing to make it is a nice thing to do, some sort of chumra, or the like. It is a different thing to impost it on everyone (other than Sepharadim I believe, but I am not sure about that) |

Origin of the nine days @DoubleAA If the gemara seems to have considered the nine days and rejected it, why was it later instituted? |

Why are some bakashot made on Shabbat? @CharlesKoppelman, there might be, but I have not heard of them. I imagine that is different, as it is based off of a d'oritah I believe (but am not sure, and I don't think that the bakashot are part of the mitzvah per se in any case) |

Why are some bakashot made on Shabbat? I know of some shuls that don't do many of these things for exactly this reason. (I think benching after al y'chasrenu can also be included in this catagory) |

Learning the shapes of the letters as a Baal Koreh @DoubleAA I think there are quite a few times where something could be asur, but it is not asur until someone says so. I think there was a famous case where someone came to the chafetz chaim with a clearly traif chicken, and he said it was fine, there is a machlocet about how a chazakah works in this respect, rosh chodesh works this way, etc. All these things have a basic "reality" to them (it is the new moon or its not, it is one person's property or is not, the chicken is good, or its not) but its not halachicly so until its pronounced. |

10th man drove to shul on shabbat @CharlesKoppelman I mean lets say the shul is there already. On a certain shabbat you know you will not have a minyan of walkers. How can you justify, for that shabbat only, having minyan? |
