Feb 13	comment	If it's your minhag to daven Hanetz, do you do so even without a minyan? Hanetz = Sunrise. Sunrise, by definition, can't happen 3 hours into the day :) Sof Zman Krias Shema happens 3 hours after hanetz. I think we're talking about different things here.

By extension, both the Litvish/yeshivish leaders as well as the "founder" of Chassidus held by the Zohar and by kabbalah. Nachmanides and many other rishonim did as well.

Up until fairly recently, it was much more dangerous to live around Christians, but not so much around Muslims. Both were dangerous, but especially during the Crusades, Muslims and Jews lived together, sharing a common foe seeking their annihilation.
Dec 8	comment	Is being vegan “kosher”? I once heard a friend remark that he would eat meat when moshiach came; also something very questionable if not outright wrong (cf. Gemara Bavli). I don't have any sources, but it seems to me that if someone is vegan or vegetarian as a matter of principle, there might me something wrong with it. There's many times on Shabbos or Yom Tov where I simply don't want (and thus don't eat) meat, but for me to convince myself that meat is morally wrong and thus make it disgusting to myself would seem to be pretty wrong. "Why are they trying to be more merciful than G-d?" Exactly.
