@msh210 I'm interested in both, but unfortunately, no one has addressed the wording directly yet, as far as I can tell.

Interesting, it seems kind of weird that the world was essentially created in a way in which it couldn't stand and then changed. I wonder why this is.

So the world was created in din, then was changed?

But why the use of Elokim as opposed to Hashem as the name used?

comment If Christianity is avodah zarah and Islam is not, why has the Christian world triumphed over the non-Christian, and why do Jews prefer to live among Christians and not Muslims?
Up until fairly recently, it was much more dangerous to live around Christians, but not so much around Muslims. Both were dangerous, but especially during the Crusades, Muslims and Jews lived together, sharing a common foe seeking their annihilation.

comment Is being vegan “kosher”?
I once heard a friend remark that he would eat meat when moshiach came; also something very questionable if not outright wrong (cf. Gemara Bavli). I don't have any sources, but it seems to me that if someone is vegan or vegetarian as a matter of principle, there might me something wrong with it. There's many times on Shabbos or Yom Tov where I simply don't want (and thus don't eat) meat, but for me to convince myself that meat is morally wrong and thus make it disgusting to myself would seem to be pretty wrong. "Why are they trying to be more merciful than G-d?" Exactly.

Why the downvote?

comment Can someone have more than one potential soulmate simultaneously?
I once heard that the GR"A tz"l once remarked that if there were two things he could change about halacha, one of them would be re-allowing a man to have multiple wives. Food for thought.

comment The return for Beis Sheini (or lack thereof)
I'll have to ask my Rav. I thought for sure the Gemara would discuss it, or at least the Rishonim.

So it was an error then? ;) I'm just looking for information on the subject. Sure it must have been discussed somewhere?
