Chopping items makes them Kitniyoth? It likely is referring to the walnuts themselves, not the fact that they are chopped. But it's still strange, as walnuts are not kitniyot (as far as I know). |

What can I feed a vegetarian at my Pesach seder? Rebbetzin, please give Reb Chaim my regards. We knew each other in high school. (He'll know who I am. How many "jake"s did he know in high school?) Thank you. |

Samaritan Torah and its semantic difference with Rabbinical Torah Ok, I can't find any English side-by-side comparisons, but I found an English translation of the Samaritan text, and of course you can try to do a comparison using the many English translations of the Masoratic available online (or offline). But I offer my sympathies if you actually attempt such a task, as it would likely be more tedious than any possible reward could justify. |

Correcting tav/sav @Daniel, Oh, I see what you mean. If a person has the tradition to pronounce "taf" with or without a dagesh, and he says "saf", maybe he thinks its a samech. In this case, though, where he says normally "saf" and says here "taf", likely he's not thinking it's a "tes", but rather that there's a dagesh in the "taf". |

Correcting tav/sav @Daniel, If anything, there is less of a reason to correct in this case than in cases of ב/בּ or פ/פּ. Is that what you mean? |

Correcting tav/sav As far as I'm aware, a dagesh, whether it be kal or chazak does not change the meaning of the word whether it is pronounced or not. |

The Rif and the Rosh on Nazir and Sotah [cont] (3) Tosafos HaRosh, which is basically the Rosh's version of tosafos on many masechtos, and it is very similar to the "regular" tosafos on the side of the page in the Vilna Shas. (4) Responsa. </list> Please edit this answer (and the question too for that matter) to be clearer with exactly what works of the Rosh you are referring to. |

The Rif and the Rosh on Nazir and Sotah Ok, this is getting confusing. Here's what's going on: The Rosh wrote four things: (1) A commentary on parts of the Talmud. This is not what he is famous for; many people hardly know it exists. (2) A Talmudic Halchic "digest" (i.e. a summary of the halachic sections of the Talmud). This is what he is famous for, and it is appended to the back of virtually all masechtos in the Vilna Shas. Now the Piskei HaRosh is a point-by-point summary of the halachic "bottom-lines" that come out of this "digest" of the Rosh. That was written by his son, the Tur. [cont] |

If a woman had more than one husband, to which would she be united at the Resurrection? These are great sources as answers to question of "to whose soul will the wife return to?" But with regard to the question of "What sources were Ezra Stiles' friend Rabbi Carregal referring to?", he certainly was not referring to Rav Pe'alim as it was written long after the death of Ezra Stiles. And I'm not sure what Anaf Yosef is (who wrote it when), but if it's the same guy as the Anaf Yosef on Midrash Rabbah and Ein Yaakov, then it's also too late to be considered. |
