Is Exercise on Shabbos Allowed? @AdamMosheh, No, I've long forgotten about this. Although this is probably based on what I remembered reading in R' Ribiat's "39 Melachos", I don't have it with me currently. I will look at it when I have the chance. For now, though, see Shulchan Aruch (OC 301:1-2) and Mishna Berurah there (301:7). |

Is there any evidence that Rabbi Akiva's students fought alongside Bar Kochba? @BruceJames, No problem. If you read the post in the link, you'll see that Avraham Korman in his Pinu’ach Aggadot (pp. 190-210) cites others (not R. Dunner) that tie the death of the talmidim of R. Akiva to the rebellion of Bar Kochba and he goes further to explain the connection between this and Rashbi and other minhagim of Sefirah. I would be very interested to see what Rabbi Korman has to say, but his book seems to be not available online. |

Should the Ten Tribes observe Chanuka and Purim? @DoubleAA, I thought about including T"B in this question, but assumed that would be cut down by the argument that the only basis for this question is a Messianic era, in which case the observance of T"B (and potentially, the downfall of the Northern Kingdom) would anyways be irrelevant. Purim and Chanuka, on the other hand, arguably are included in the Messianic calendar. |

Why celebrate Lag Ba'Omer on the 33rd according to the MaHaRIL? @shulem, That was my point. That if the first day of Pesach was Shabbat, that the other seven shabbatot would be not included in the Pesach count. But that was before I realized that we're the eighth day of Pesach as well, in which case we anyways have a problem. |

What was so good about Naamah the Ammonite? @vulcandeathgrip, No one said they were righteous. The Talmud says that they were "good birds", or "two grafts (בריכות)". What that means is up for interpretation. |
