Tish'a Ushloshim - mi yodeya? Yes, 39 for each of the 39, making 1521 toledot, plus 39 avot, for a total of 1560. I think it is a Tosefos in perek Klal Gadol in masechet Shabbos, but can't find it right now, and Google only pointed me to a messianic Judiasm site in the UK. |

Teaching Written Torah to Christians Is it even possible to teach Tanach in a strictly written sense? "You shall bind them on your hand and they should be for a sign before your eyes" How do you teach this?? As soon as you describe tefillin, isn't that Torah she ba'al peh? |

Cleaning Tzitzis no problem. honestly, I don't wash them. for whatever reason, they seem to get worn out before they get dirty or smelly. I wash all my other clothes regularly, but the tzitzis never seem to be a problem. |

Is diversity a Jewish value? I would file that under "tolerance," another popular buzzword these days. I am really asking about the added value of diversity. If I look/think/act exactly like everyone else in my Torah community, would it actually be better to diverge a bit, as long as I stay on the path? |
