Can a Christian “Grace” invalidate food? Did they really say that? I have never heard of such a grace. The standard text I believe is: "Bless us, O Lord, and these thy gifts which we are about to receive from thy bounty through Christ our Lord." Or do you think that is the same thing? |

Can a Christian “Grace” invalidate food? But can't somebody make an animal prohibited as a korban, even if it doesn't belong to him? What about if he uses it for bestiality? |

Cutting chala with a knife I thought we removed the knife so we don't stab ourselves out of grief while bentching and mentioning Yerushalayim, and then getting overwhelmed by sorrow over its loss. |

History of 6 Teveis well, not just as likely. I assume that 6 Teves never coincides with July 4, but does occasionally coincide with Dec 25. I really should have saide "6 Teves is as likely as any other overlapping date" |

Answering questions on a website that were asked on Shabbos Just after sunset on the international dateline on the equinox, shabbos has not yet ended in the eastern hemisphere, and has just started in the west. Depending on your opinion of tzeis hakochavim, there could be as much as an hour when it is shabbos in the whole world. |

Is there any problem with thanking a non-Jew by saying “God bless you?” only if you are a Litvak |

Where and when do we light Shabbos candles 15 minutes later than usual? at my house, in the winter, when my wife walks in the door 3 mins before shekiya |

What is the rarest Haftarah? I had guessed 2nd shabbos of chanukah, but this list is great! Too bad about Miketz, since the story of Shlomo and the baby is one of my favorites, and probably one of the best known stories in the Bible. (maybe it doesn't need any more pirsumei) |

Why doesn't Al Hanisim Mention the Miracle of the Oil? one of my favorite answers in Ner l'meah, about why 8 days, when the miracle was really only 7 days: Whenever we light oil and it burns, it is a natural "everyday" miracle, which sometimes requires supernatural miracles to focus our attention on the mundane ones. |

relative fractions of Kohanim and Levi'im I had heard similar stats about the Syrian community in the US. One explanation (although I am personal skeptical) is that under the various persecutions in Syria in the past century or so, the community focused on getting the Cohanim safely out. Maybe some Leviim impersonated Cohanim in order to be safe too. |

verb + its infinitive as a corollary, why does this construct occur so many times in parshat mishpatim? (mot yumat; shalem yeshalem; etc.) Perhaps something profound about the importance and emphasis on mitzvot bein adam l'chavero... |

verb + its infinitive Is תֹּאכֵל the infinitive of אָכֹל ? I thought it would be l'echol. nonetheless, the doubling question still stands |

Tefillas HaDerech in populated areas re: I-95, is this due to population or danger? in both I-95 and Rt29, one must take an exit ramp, as opposed to simply "turning off" |
