verb + its infinitive as a corollary, why does this construct occur so many times in parshat mishpatim? (mot yumat; shalem yeshalem; etc.) Perhaps something profound about the importance and emphasis on mitzvot bein adam l'chavero... |

verb + its infinitive Is תֹּאכֵל the infinitive of אָכֹל ? I thought it would be l'echol. nonetheless, the doubling question still stands |

Tefillas HaDerech in populated areas re: I-95, is this due to population or danger? in both I-95 and Rt29, one must take an exit ramp, as opposed to simply "turning off" |

Latest shabbat not longest day…? the sun's path is FAR more precise than a Timex, just not as uniform. We can calculate the time that the sun should be in a certain place in a thousand years from now, with accuracy of better than a second. A quartz crystal would be off by more than an hour, assuming the battery still works. |

Did any Achronim comment on the American Revolutionary or Civil Wars? I wonder if he would have also been critical of the Declaration of Independence: "we hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal" (of course, TJ was a major slave owner, so he clearly didn't understand "all men" as we do today) |

Why did Hashem tell Moshe to look behind him when looking into Eretz Yisroel? a corollary: what order are the directions in? not clearly clockwise or counterclockwise, and it would be hard to go from N to S without passing through E or W. |

Things we do not do because of Danger what about all the traditional warnings about water? They seem to be in the category of fish+meat, i.e. no modern scientific justification |

Things we do not do because of Danger as my great uncle A"H used to say for the fish+shnapps: "The fish have to swim!" (of course, this would suggest water is better for this, but as you say, there may be other motivations at work) |

Can you drink a beer (such as Miller or Budweiser) at a bar? For Bud and Miller, there is also a moris ayin issue of drinking lousy beer. |

What bar/bat mitzva present did you actually want/like/use? Wow-that is exactly what I was going to say. For better or worse, that gameboy was probably the gift that I used more than any other in my life. and almost all of those hours were spent on one game: TETRIS! |

What bar/bat mitzva present did you actually want/like/use? One of the B"M gifts I also use today the most is a Kehati set. I actually bought it second hand from somebody who got it for his bar mitzvah, then later upgraded to the Kehati+Bartenura set. |

What bar/bat mitzva present did you actually want/like/use? wow, that is impressive. I have never heard of anyone with their own microfiche reader. |
