comment maaser to your own employer
Why do you think it could be a problem? You give money to a charity organization, why should it matter what organization it is?

comment Government “swearing-in” ceremony
According to Note 2. When I served in IDF, in the end of recruit training the secular soldiers said "I swear" (אני נשבע) while religious said "I affirm" (אני מצהיר).

comment Are the seventy distinct languages and nations listed?
@Scimonster to support your claim, there are exactly 70 bulls scarified on Sukkos. Which are (as commonly known) for 70 nations.

comment Why is the total count of Noah's life 950 years when the year of the flood took a full year cycle?
I heard once that Noach didn't slept the entire year. He was busy to feed the animals. So that year he "was not living", therefore it is not counted.

comment Das Torah regarding taking notes during Shiurim
I admit that it happens to me that I miss part of the lesson while I'm writing the previous things. However, this way I have at least one part of the lesson written, therefore I have a chance to reread it later and to remember something. When the lesson it recorded I rarely find a time to relisten the whole lesson once again.

comment Why is it permissible to flush a toilet on Shabbat?
I asked myself the same question some time ago, and the only kulah I found was that this is melacha she'eina tzicha legufa (the result of the work is not required), because you want the water (and etc.) not to be in your house and not that you need it to be outside.

comment Shmitah nowadays?
@Yishaq but now we do not have Yovel, so anyway there should not be a difference between Hcachamim and R. Yehuda.

comment May an Ashkenazi wear Yemenite Tzitzith?
@NoachmiFrankfurt I think that you are not correct. From this part of the question: "a double-knot at the base of the tassle in order for the Tzitzith to be Kosher, regardless of how they are tied after that" I understand that he is talking about the knot above.

comment “I'm just not a 'learning guy'”
About the jump to extremes about am haaretz, I heard once that a man can be am haaretz related to one thing but not another. So not all am haaretz that are mentioned in the Gemorah are the same.

comment What year was the first Shemita?
@ShmuelBrin during the 70 years the shemita was counted miderabanan. Like we count now, after the destruction of the second temple, mederabanan (according to most of opinions).

I also heard once this answer. But what happens if the Sha'tz for second part of the prayer (Ashrei and after that) is not the same person?
