comment Is there any halachic problem with an ark having a “lazy susan” for the Sifrei Torah?
I have seen a Shul where they built an elevator in the Aron Kodesh and they had two levels. At times they raise the top level up or at times they lower it down. However there all the Sifrei Torah are facing front.

comment Is it haughty to wear a frock when one is underserving?
@DanF: Although the Chassidic Rabbis wear shtreimelach, white socks and long black robes, the Rabbi's often wear a felt edging on the Beketche which differentiates them from the Chasid.

Funny you asked this, as I just saw a fellow who is not a Rabbi and he recently put one on.

comment A hungry beggar asks to use your credit card to buy food. Must you give it?
If a beggar asks you to lend him your car are you required to give it? If a beggar asks you for $100 are you required to give it? I am sure the answer to these questions and to yours is a resounding no. For that matter does one have to go into debt to give charity?

Who said the Rabbi enforces this, perhaps it is enforced by the local police force?

A.D.N. also says

DanF: I am saying that her entering the subway illegally does not prove that you were correct.

Who said "Essentially, she didn't want to pay the fare" PERHAPS "Essentially, she didn't have with what to pay the fare"

Your question presumes that a well dressed person can not be needy, which is untrue. A person can be temporarily needy.

Perhaps she did not have money on her for any number of reasons, and did not want to enter the subway illegally, however since you did not offer her a ride she had no choice.

comment Origin for different styles for congregational singing in El Adon and Lecha Dodi
I think this question is asking the difference between congregations that sing it stanza by stanza vs. those that sing it together.

comment Origin of responses for Kaddish
@Yishai: The question was not asking whether it should be done, it was asking for the source of those who do. If one reads the link they can see that there are those who hold it is improper.

comment Can a mistaken extra Mincha count for Ma'ariv?
If one forgets Yaaleh Veyavo at Maariv on Rosh Chodesh there is no need to Daven again thus that should not be a factor.
