Yes!... Sort of like the yearning of: "We want Moshiach now!"

@DoubleAA - well, I can tell you that there were people out there that opposed just about everything that the Rebbe said. True, it is unfortunate to bring this up, but I still really think that this is one of those many cases.

@DoubleAA - I totally disagree with with your above comment. They didn't merely request information. They were saying to Moshe (loosely) even though Hashem says that we shouldn't participate - none-the-less we still want to participate.

@DoubleAA 'why should we be excluded' - is more a demand than a prayer, and yet - as it seems - that's exactly what Hashem wanted to hear from them

I don't think there has to be Torah-based answer to this question. IMHO a more likely answer would be politics.

When the Jews that were impure in the desert were told that they couldn't participate in the Korban Pesach offering their response was 'Lama Nigara' - 'why should we be excluded..' - and apparently Hashem liked that approach - as in response - Hashem gave Pesach Sheni to Am Yisrael.

@HodofHod - continuing your above point - when one prays for someone to have a refuah shleima - I'd say their intent is now

comment Amen to another's blessing while you are in the middle of a verse containing a curse
Well, maybe nothing's wrong... that's what I'm asking. After all if you've just said 'And the wrath of the Lord will be kindled against you..' - maybe there could be an issue about answering Amen immediately.

@DoubleAA - I don't understand why you would think that chabad is looking for a successor. Have you heard anything on those lines for the last 20 years or so? That's not by accident. Oh, and R. Yoel was around 20 years ago as well.

+1 The OP asked: who is the closest successor, and Ephraim answered: no one. That's not just an answer, but the only correct one.

@ShmuelBrin Good point. I've always taken it for-granted that it was was from Kehos (probably because of the fact that the front cover uses the same cover as the original dvar malchus - with the Kehos logo) - but now that you mention it - I'm not sure. I just looked at a booklet now, and I can't make out who the publisher is. I think I'll edit the Kehos bit out of the answer in the mean time though. Thanks.
