What percentage of Chabad still believes the Rebbe is the Messiah? @SethJ Mainstream Chabad (not only 'Mishechists") also believe that the Rebbe is still Nosi HaDor and Moshiach She-ba-dor. Furthermore, regarding the 'serious problem' you refer to .... did you see this letter from Rabbi Aharon soloveichik hezbos.blogspot.co.il/2012/09/… ?? Stop trying to condemn thousands of pious and G-d fearing Jews!! |

Why can we not say the names of certain angels aloud? I'm pretty sure that any angel name which is also a human name (from Tanach) can be pronounced. Example: Z'Vadyah Yishmreini ViChayeini - on Rosh Chodesh after hallel |

Can you leave a sieve in your sink on Shabbos? the sieve's purpose is to prevent the 'debris' from clogging up pipes - not for selecting. Also, in order for there to be a problem of selection there first must be a mixture ('Ta-ah-rovet') of things for one to select. What would the 'mixture' be here? |

Why do we venerate previous generations? @nikmasi (just to make this clear) I was not trying to critisize you in my original comment [like others have suggested]. Rather, [on the basis of my understanding of the Gemara sources - that they refer to future generation trend as well] - I was just wondering why these sources wouldn't help in answering your question. |

Why do we venerate previous generations? Also @DoubleAA, I think that the Gemarra is stating a general trend - of yeridat hadorot - not a hard-and-fast rule which we can use compare 2 specific Rabbis based on date of birth. |

Why do we venerate previous generations? @DoubleAA I'm sorry, but you misunderstood my comment. It seemed clear to me that the gemarra isn't just coming to tell us about the past, but rather to tell us a general trend - including future generations - about Yeridat Hadorot |

Why do we venerate previous generations? But why would we think that these statements made in the Talmud cease to become relevant in later generations? |

Why did David HaMelech tell Shlomo to punish Shimei Ben Geira? In any case I think you're answer is more suited to be a comment than an answer, as it doesn't answer the original question. When you get more points you'll be able to comment on questions |

Why did David HaMelech tell Shlomo to punish Shimei Ben Geira? My intention was not (chas v'shalom) to fault David HaMelech but rather to find an explanation where both episodes don't even seem to contradict one another. Similar to 'Yavo HaKatuv HaShlishi V'Yachria Beineihem' By the way, this is generally what Torah commentaries do. |

What percentage of Chabad still believes the Rebbe is the Messiah? In any case, I clearly explained myself that statistics are irrelevant when history has suggested a clear answer to the question |

What percentage of Chabad still believes the Rebbe is the Messiah? @DoubleAA my original answer certainly answer the question. Did you read the title? "What percentage of Chabad still believes the Rebbe is the Messiah?" - no mention of statistics there. |
