you have to distinguish between halacha and mida chasidut (extra piety). and even then it has its domain where it is valid and where it is just folly

what do you mean by "conseqence" and "how the action is viewed", viewed by who?

so your answer is that the soul is the prime mover. so a machine for example can be reverse engineered, ie traced backwards to the first cause. ex. a mechanical watch has gears, etc. which go back to the first cause which is the battery. but a cell has no physical first cause. rather it is the soul which drives it all simulatenously. is this correct?

@ShamanSTK so if we made a machine with the same components. would it also be called alive? if a cell is just a bunch of physical machines then theoretically we should be able to

what do you mean by keeping it moving? if everything follows the laws of physics then there is no need for something to keep it moving. so there is no noticeable difference between a machine and a living thing? btw, the soul in animates is just to keep the thing in existence from nothing. that's how i understood it

@DannySchoemann yes you cant see the neshama. but why can't you see it's effect? under the microscope all you see is machines. all of which obey the laws of physics. things die because these machines can no longer function. thnx

@yEz not the same but definitely one supports the other and so far cells have reached the point where it is almost beyond conception

@MichaBerger but quantum mechanics is also clockwork in the sense that there are definite probabilities of events occurring. so the events follow the probabilities. if there were an intelligence there manipulating, it would be noticeable in its going outside the bounds of the expected probabilities

@DannySchoemann but where is the neshama manifest? when we look in cells everything follows the laws of physics. we dont see anything miraculous. so what effect does the neshama have on the physical

interesting. so the soul creates new order whereas a machine always loses order. but how does it work? inside cells all we see is machines. everything seems to follow the laws of physics
