comment What is the purpose of the mosquito?
@IsaacMoses there may be other purposes, as other answers pointed out, but the point is that there does not have to be a particular purpose for each and every specie or aspect of creation as the OP seems to assume

comment “I'm just not a 'learning guy'”
the less you want to learn, the more you need to learn. i've seen it compared to a sick man who does not want to eat

@DoubleAA same God in the sense that it is not idolatry but obviously a different version of God just like you and i are different versions of human beings

comment Are Jews commanded to love Muslims?
@DoubleAA in a sense no. It's like two human beings. both are similar in that they share some characteristics but they are nevertheless two different, separate human beings. so too, the muslims believe in a one God who is all powerful etc., but it's not the same God as ours.

@DoubleAA the God of the jewish bible which the muslims deny. they believe the rabbis rewrote the torah.

comment Are Jews commanded to love Muslims?
@DoubleAA we say in the amida - the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob, so in that sense sabbahillel is right.

comment Light in the Room during Marital Relations
@DoubleAA the question is whether there are certain circumstances where it is permitted to see one's spouse during relations. i dont see how any of those questions address this point in the least.

@DoubleAA not at all similar. there is during the day with dark coverings so that nothing is visible.

comment Why was an imperfect world instructed in capital punishment?
@msh210 "the application of such a punishment can only be carried out by humans whose system of justice is nearly perfect" - I interpreted this to mean the system precribed by the torah is not perfect

@DoubleAA no. we know more or less what will happen as the rambam explains there. we're just not sure about the details. return of prophecy is part of the final redemption (Geulah). how about you bringing a source that it is separate from the Geulah.
