@DoubleAA you have to take it into context. it's not just the physics of the universe. the diversity of life forms also testifies to an Intelligence. we find just about every sort of system imaginable and some beyond imagination. There are creatures with mirror eyes, electric probes, biological pistols, and many many other amazing systems.

@DoubleAA i understnad what you mean, but the fact remains that the odds are almost infinitely small. so the explanation that an intelligence was involved is far more likely to be the correct answer. unless you want to say there are infinite universes, but then there's no reason to consider that possibility.

@DoubleAA yes, but to get something that works. that is functional. for example to assemble a working engine by chance there are far more failures combinations than there are working combinations.

comment Is one a heretic if he does not believe in Kabbalah?
did Rav Ovadia give a reason for this? perhaps it was so they dont go off even more. could be for other types of people who do this out of rebellion, he would consider them heretics

comment Is it important to learn Mishnah before Talmud?
keep your talmud seder and learn a couple of mishas a day in spare time. i've seen people fall into this trap and burn out completely. main chiyus is from talmud study. cannot get deep clarity in mishna. its good for kids but not too much for adults.

where does the moreh nevuchim say kadmut haolam is not heretical? rambam says in many places that only God can be eternally existing

@IsaacKotlicky maybe but it is much more compatible with the torah's account than aristotel's view
