comment Why put Psalm 130 right before barchu?
There is an often-quoted statement: השח בין ישתבח לברכו עבירה היא בידו וחוזר עליה מעורכי המלחמה - One who speaks between Yishtabah and Barakhu has sinned and would be able to be evacuated from combat on account of the fear he carries regarding his guilt in this matter.

comment Why different customs for daily and Shabbat Kedusha?
I haven't encountered the practice you describe. There's one opinion that the congregation only says the lines "kadosh", "barukh", and "yimklokh". There's another opinion that they say everything. But there's no distinction between Shabbat and weekday in either position.

comment Why do we say pesukim from Hoshea after donning tefillin?
p.s., the reason for the seemingly strange name of the book: it's an acronym for mezuza, tzitzit, tfillin- the mitzvot it discusses.

revised Sefas Emes on Aharon lighting the Menorah
tried to correct the translation if the word hispa'alus. it doesn't refer to action (that would be pe'ulah).
