Aha, so it is not a continuous phrase in the posukim. That is what I could not easily find it via google. When people sing it, I hear "וּבְחֻצוֹת יְרוּשָׁלַים", but it clearly says "יְרוּשָׁלִַם". Is it being sung incorrectly?

Thank you. I appreciate that and am curious what you find. I hope that if anything, it at least leads to some interesting discussion at your Beis Medrash.

Thank you for clarifying this. So, do we understand that the whitening of the red wool must happen at the exact moment of the "whitening of sin"? I guess I am trying to understand how, if the whitening of the wool is miraculous anyway, it could possibly happen before the entire procedure is over. As I am typing this, I think that I understand, but I am curious if there is a source that thoroughly explains this. Is there?

Also, I will note that we are planning to go for 5 weeks, although I would guess that even not having access for a day might be a problem, no?

Thanks for the great information. I was more asking from the perspective of Halacha than whether or not it would be helpful to have. As far as I understand, the Halacha is that a couple should not be together if the woman does not have access to the kesubah. I was wondering if being ~7000 miles is considered not having access.

Ah, interesting. How does that accord with Chazal's defining it as a cliff as Rashi brings? (I understand that there is Torat Nistar, but I wonder the correlation between a cliff and a demon.(

Where does this apply practically today? Does it mean that a college student should keep his door open if his roommate is away (or doesn't have a roommate)? What does somebody do on a business trip, etc.? What does a child who has no siblings do? Etc...

Thank you. I think it is a perfectly valid answer and since sources are quoted, that is what I was looking for. Like many similar things, I think it is acceptable like so: If you are thinking in the realm of everything being miraculous, it is certainly acceptable to suggest that after the flood of the entire earth, Hashem re-populated certain areas with animals miraculously (such as kangaroos in Australia). But if you want to address the situation in something that can be understand in physical means, there are sources that would suggest that the flood only filled certain areas of the world.

Not creeping around anything. If the answer is "no" I would not necessarily feel satisfied, but that would sufficiently answer the question that I'm asking. I just would like to know if anybody has heard of this question being addressed by Chazal. (i.e. How did kangaroos end up in Australia, etc.?)
