comment Is the way of the torah pleasant or painful?
@CharlesKoppelman I'm not the one making the dichotomy, the mishna is. If the torah is both of these things let the mishna (or a pasuk) say so.

@MonicaCellio I'm going to go with the latter see for example finkorswim.com/2009/07/28/… (and I personally know they have a few of these in 'the 'burg' as well.

comment “There is a son born to Naomi”? But it's a grandson — what's up with that?
Thanks @DoubleAA :) The general idea comes from Rav Matis Weinberg but I have added my own take on it. I think you'll enjoy these - thelivingtree.org/indexRuth.htm

comment Prosthetic limbs in halacha
@msh210 et al. I honestly don't know how to reword this in a more concise way. I am asking if the halacha regards prosthetic limbs as part of a person's body or not. It should really be a yes/no kind of thing. Not a case by case.

comment Prosthetic limbs in halacha
@DoubleAA I think it's already reasonably scoped. Basically I'm asking if a prosthetic limb is considered part of the body or not. If it is I assume all the standard halachos apply.

comment Hand movements when lighting shabbat candles
I think the first part actually answers a different question (why do women cover their eyes after lighting). I'm not familiar with the chabad source (ner shabbat ch. 13). but perhaps there is more information there as to why that motion and why 3 times etc.

But then why not use "v'rapeh" or something more straightforward?
