Does one sit shiva for someone he killed? I don't think shiva is always bereavement. It might just be closure. There are lots of folks who hate their parents and still sit for them. |

sperm donation and p'ru ur'vu This is a good answer (halfway there) but doesn't actually answer the question raised. Where does the makhlokhet on artificial insemination stem from? |

Adon 'Olam or Yigdal after Ma'ariv Friday night and Yom Tov? +1 A much better question! |

Adon 'Olam or Yigdal after Ma'ariv Friday night and Yom Tov? I've been in some shuls that do adon olam regularly and other shuls that leave it up to the sha"tz which they do. |

What halachot does an American traveling to Israel have to be made aware of? What's the source on mezuzot needing to be up immediately? |

Is the Talmud part of the Jewish canon? @Yirmeyahu I doubt there's anyone who disputers that the Talmud meets both criteria for Jewish thought. |

Which word in “אלו ואלו דברי אלקים חיים” is חיים modifying? +1, but why wouldn't you write "דברי חיים של אלוקים" if that's what you meant? |

Origin of Mareh Kohen tune @Menachem no, but the first calls it the "Yigal Calek" niggun. I assumed he only did one version, but I could be wrong. |

Synthetic unkosher meat? @Daniel I agree that your question is valid. If Talmud can ask about a cow giving birth to a camel, we can certinly ask about creating synthetic meat. But I'd argue that in order to answer your question, you need to know what constitutes "meat" in halakha. |

10th man drove to shul on shabbat @soandos I was answering the question you raised in response to Shalom's answer (permissibility of building a shul if one person goes away), not the original question. |

Origin of Mareh Kohen tune @SethJ You're welcome! :-p It goes well to Lecha Dodi. |

10th man drove to shul on shabbat @soandos yes, that's what i mean. Why is that not relevant? Most shabboses, you expect most people to be home. So any given shabbos you may not have a minyan of walkers, but it's not impermissible to make a shul there. |

10th man drove to shul on shabbat not to be overly PC, but I don't think you mean "ten people" unless you count animists and ten-year-olds in your minyan. |

Synthetic unkosher meat? @Ariel I would posit that to be meat, it needs to come from an animal, not from a cell. But I don't know what halakha says. That's what this question is asking. |
