comment If you didn’t put on tefilin at shacharis, when should you?
I don't think this answers the question.

@DoubleAA and Avrohom Yitzchok, please provide a source regarding an importance of wearing tefillin at mincha.

comment Why does Hashem send Yona to tell non-Jews to do teshuva?
Perhaps this was done before, but is irrelevant to Jewish learning. The exception being Yonah's story which contains ideas that are relevant to us.

But in the end it all comes down to a positive or negative. Permissible vs Restricted. Unclean vs Clean.

comment Why remove tfilin before talis?
Gershon, it seems from the read that those 3 ideas are from the shoel who opines that one who puts on a talis just for kavod hatzibur may remove his talis first. R' Ephraim's answer is that based on the sources, there is no differentiation "al pi kabala". Though R' Ephraim calls the above 3 ideas "miskablim al halev".

comment Why not give tzeddakah before shmittah?
OK, so your question is that the Torah demands a gift, while the loan is only an option if the recipient refuses a gift, so where does the problem of shmittah arise?

comment Why remove tfilin before talis?
@Menachem, isn't that backwards? He says the hefsek is based on the length of time worn. We are looking for a basis of that length.

@Menachem, how is that related?

Dan, it seems the entire portion is referring to lending. The Rashi commenting on an allusion of the pasuk that one should initially gift, but the simple flow of words refers to a loan.

comment What is the philosophy or logic for considering masturbation to be sinful?
Adam, since you are still searching for reasoning behind "masturbation is sinful", it is too early to conclude that masturbation is less sinful than other sexual sins.

comment How can God be just in light of Deuteronomy 23:3?
@jake, either I am misreading you or you have a different answer. Your answer sounds like a religious caste system,- if you are born from a forbidden relationship, we place you in a lower caste. What I am saying is that a person born from such a relationship has a spiritual defect which precludes him from a spiritual bond with someone who is spiritually whole.

comment Tefilin with obstruction on hand
@Gabi, re your 1st question, I have already addressed- if the kesher is not tight, you haven't done the mitzva. but this can also be accomplished with the hankie. re your second question, the TMY is clearly talking about the upper arm. His point is that (acc. to some) so long as you have not wrapped the fingers, you have not done the full keshira. But he certainly isn't referring to the lower arm, or else the length of a strap would need to include those wrappings as well.

comment How was kashrut affected by Science?
The simple answer to your question is yes, as many of the kosher laws we have are based on the scientific method. But there are many general rules which preclude using this method.
