Why is it ok to use tap water/toilets on Shabbos? Considering the source of the water pressure Electricity, according to Rav Shlomo Zalman Auerbach, involves neither molid, boneh, makeh b'patish, causing sparks, burning fuel, or bishul (of the wires). He said that minhag yisrael is not to use electricity and that turning on an incandescent bulb actually involves an issur d'oraita. |

Chabad custom of not allowing water to touch matzah on Pesach I should say instead that there is a halachic basis, but certainly, abstaining from gebrokts is not a halachic requirement, as the Gemara itself attests to the fact that Chazal did eat gebrokts, and history tells us that many gedolim did as well. Those who are makpid rely on the shita of Rabbenu Yerucham, as brought down in modern times by the Alter Rebbe of Lubavitch. |

Reliability of the OKS I would contact the rav hamachshir, R' Harry Cohen, and ask him what his standards are. In the case of Crumbs, they do the baking and food preparations off the premises, and I would assume that those facilities are under more stringent supervision. |
