comment Can one say amen to a blessing invoked by a Christian?
I've even heard people go so far as to say that we should say amen to "allahu akhbar" by muslims, because this means "G-d is great"

comment Davening with an Egalitarian Minyan
Great question and I'm still not sure how I'd deal with this situation

Thank you, that is some food for thought. Does anyone have any more thoughts regarding saying amen, participating in kedushah, etc?

Thanks for the advice, I'll ask another question focusing on the davening aspect, which is really my main concern

The food is kosher. The women are allowed to wear shorts and t shirts. What kind of atmosphered do you mean?

Interesting. So was there any historical resistance from the religious community to instituting Yom HaShoah in Nissan?

comment Leniencies for someone keeping Kosher in a non-Kosher home
Another thing that came up recently is the cutting board. It is wood and is used for both meat and dairy. Can I cut cold food on that (beside from dvar charif)?

comment What's the difference between “Jew”, “Israelite” and “Judaizer”?
Israeli refers to someone living in the modern state of Israel, while Israelite is anyone descended from Jacob (who was also called Israel) - in other words, anyone who would be considered Jewish today

I hear that, but I also feel that I am living in their home and I should try to stick as close as I (halachically) can to doing things their way

Double AA - I know I need to consult with a Rabbi, I'm just looking for a general idea for now. I am looking for what kulot exist (for example, I once heard something about using dishes that hadn't been used in a day...I don't know the details, but things along those lines)

comment How do you do bedikat chametz when you live alone?
I might be wrong, but I think the point of the minhag is so that you don't make a brachah levatela if you don't find any chametz. I'm not sure why 10 though...maybe something from the kabbalah?
