comment Heretics in the bathroom
@Isaac Moses But honestly, i really cannot convince myself imagianing an immortal, almighty entity (Allah or Hashem) wrestling with a mortal, weak entity (Jabob or Yaakov) (may peace and blessings be upon him). I would rather like to post a seprate question to dicuss this or like to continue from here: judaism.stackexchange.com/questions/14461/…

@Adam Mosheh I see. Some people do have a habit of reading newspaper, comics or novels in the restroom as it eases their constipation or makes them comfortable to release their faeces. Maybe the same case is with Rabbi Avigdor Miller! No doubt, that the Quran and indeed a of portion of the New Testament does contain spiritual content that does not contradict Judaism, thus easing the Rabbi to rid of his faeces!

@Adam Mosheh So "Blasphemy" is allowed or even encouraged in Judaism...right?

@Adam Mosheh Well there is heresy within the sects of Judaism then what you would say aout that! Orthodox Judaism considers Reform and Reconstructionist Judaism to be heretical movements, and regards most of Conservative Judaism as heretical.

Remember that the God is the same one and only one, unique, supreme and omnipotent entity that both Islam and Judaism advocates to worship. But the attributes that Judaism refers to is quite vauge and purely based upon commentaries. Here is one difference: In Islam, Quran is the primary source of knowledge. Now accroding to the Torah, God is claimed have wrestled with Jacob. Please read Genesis 32:28-29 and 35:10. Now there are several interpretations and commentaries of the text given here. And infact entire Judaism is based on what the commentaries and interpretations of the Rabbis.

comment How are sorcery or witchcraft viewed in Judaism and Jewish Mysticism?
@HodofHod Your answer is indeed based on truth! I being a Muslim cannot tolerate any of the Prophets (may peace and blessing be upon them) to be falsely accused of such evils. This is exactly what Islam teaches and stresses upon as well.

@HodofHod This is one reason i always stress upon reading, learning and studying the present scriptures in thier own pure and original languages. Infact, we as human beings are not powerrless wo translate or tranliterate God's word.

@HodofHod This is one good reason that i have always sought to read, learn and research on languages of the scriptures. I love Hebrew as much as i love Arabic! What David Livingston said in his book is merely his own understanding which is obviously false.

@HodofHod Isee. Now if we carefully compare both languages in terms of vocabulary and verbosity, then Hebrew is hugely deficient with many words for various objects whereas if you look at Arabic then there is a huge range of vocabulary (e.g. different words for different kinds of camels, differnt words for different kinds of winds). There are different names for each of the 5 fingers of hand in Arabic. There is no word for "Index Finger" for instance has no words in Hebrew at all but Arabic has that!

@ Seth J No one here is questioning the holiness of Torah/Tankh from the Jewish perspective. An nither this site is just confined for the Jews to participate. Belief has to be rational or logical in order to be valid and accepted by the masses! But individually speaking, one is free to beleive in the holiness of whatever one wants to.

@ Shmuel Brin If that was the scenario, then that was a cruelty done to Jews. But again, the question remains there: Why jews are allowed to earn interest from others and not from the Jews?

@ Double AA This does not make sense at all! This is prejedice.

Can you justify your claim? What advantage does Hebrew has over Arabic? Arabic is alive and will remain alive for the times to come! The highest form of Arabic literature is the Quran. Compare the Quran that was revealed 1400 years ago and compare the one now...no differnce at all. What you will say about Torah? You are not even sure what language Abraham(may peace and blessings be upon him) and Moses (may peace and blessings be upon him) used to speak!

@Seth So according to what you and others are saying here: "A person who is born to a Jew mother, but later converted Islam can legally marry a Jew according to Judaism."!

@Isaac Moses We are children of Abraham(may peace and blessings be upon him). Our interpretation is different but we share common roots and our core law is mor or less the same. What is really makes things bitter and conflicting when facts are distorted and concoctions take their place because of sectarianism and prejeudice. I am here to learn, search and seek the real facts based on genuine theological evidence. I presume that this forum is not based on one Jewish sect but represents Judaism in its entireity. Hope this forum helps me in my objective!
