I am a Gentile interested in learning about Judaism.

My main interest in learning about Judaism comes from the fact that my mother's family migrated from Uzbekistan's once very Jewish town Bukhara and so it is quite possible that they were Jewish. Sadly I can't make that connection to prove it as fact hence I am a Gentile. But still my soul yearns to learn about Judaism and that's why I am here.

Regardless of that fact...both of you together are free to make your arguments using the texts that I provided. Again...just because you THINK its biased doesn't mean a thing. To both Ahmadi and TofeeqAhmad, if you think the answer is biased then please prove so using the sources that I provided. Just saying that an answer is biased doesn't make it go away. Either put up or don't say anything at all. As for Sunni Muslims, they make up over 85% of the Muslim world. Even if they were 'only' 80% as you claim, that is still a huge number. Notice that in my answer I did say that it is Muslim communities that use these verses to say that Jews are descended from pigs etc. The Quran doesn't specifically make that claim.

Jun 8	comment	Most original form of the Hebrew Bible/Tenach @Shredder As a Christian who talks to Jews on a regular basis, I haven't come across any Jews who don't agree with one Jewish translation of the Tanakh and disagree with another. Of course there are Jewish translations of the Tanakh that are written from different perspectives (literal, meaning-for-meaning, etc) but singling out Jews in that is, quite frankly, silly. Christians have a billion and one translations too, what shall we say about us? As for your Dan 9:25, I am aware of the verse and I'm saying this again, you should be looking at Christian translations to get what you want to see.

Jan 27	comment	Why was Rabbi Yitzchok Alfasi known as the Rif - rather than the Ria? (הרי"ף - רבי יצחק אלפסי) "AlFasi" literally would translate as "the of Fez". If one wanted to say "from Fez", they would say "Men Fez" or "Min Fez". The word "Fasi" itself means "of Fez", like "Amriki" in Arabic means "of America" or "American", when you add an "al" to that, it only adds "the" to the word.
Jan 27	comment	Should you greet a non-jew after washing netilat yadayim? @user1208 I was on askmoses.com trying to ask a rabbi about this but all he said to the question was "yes", meaning you can greet a gentile. However, I am not sure about this hesek-interruption part and the rabbi didn't say anything other than yes, that's why I am commenting instead of answering. Oh, I did read on the internet that you are not supposed to ask a Gentile to help you with washing, other than that, not a lot of references regarding Gentiles when it comes to netilat yadayim. Being a Gentile, I had to even look up the term itself. :-)
