Is the brochah made on gum for the base or the flavoring? @WAF if "garon" literally meant throat, you could pretty much never be hayav for something because it is a beriya-it usually wouldn't be whole by the time it gets to your throat. |

Eating meat: when do the 6 hours start? If its based on when you start eating, if you have a seven hour meal may you eat basar bechalav during that seventh hour? Or can you eat them consecutively just not together? Does it matter if its "derekh bishul"? |

Is the brochah made on gum for the base or the flavoring? Yabia Omer O"C vol. 7. I'd post it if I had access, but I'm sure you're plenty capable of looking it up yourself. Its around the 20's (simanim-wise), addressed to his son R. Yitzchak. |

Can you fold a tallis on Shabbos? @DoubleAA the Hebrew clearly says talitoteyhem- why change it? Sometimes I feel like "proper yiddish" is code for "grammarless hebrew" |

Best practices for praying in public with talit and tefilin R David Yosef in Halacha Berura has a great suggestion for not freaking out non-Jews with your tefillin: cover them with your talit! (He really lives in E Israel!) |

Does bagged lettuce need a hechsher? When does the Aruch Hashulchan apply? I've heard that when an infestation is found, its pretty obvious- but they're only found in certain harvests. Does that mean that lettuce overall has no obvious infestation? |

Kabala in Halacha The reason why we don't wear tefillin for mussaf on rosh chodesh is kabbalistic; the radbaz has an important teshuva on it where he discusses the relationship of halacha and kaballah. |

Does G-d only hear one language? Bear in mind, though, that all physical references to God (I.e. hearing or seeing) are euphemistic (Rambam Hilchot Yesodei Hatorah 1:9-end) |

Why isn't there confirmation outside the Reform Movement? @DoubleAA so then what exactly gets downvoted? (asked in all sincerity btw) |

What is the kiss of death? @ba (s)he has difficulty seeing this (^^obviously euphemistic^^) event as a euphemism. |

Why isn't there confirmation outside the Reform Movement? but wouldn't such a ceremony increase meaning? It sounds like a pretty meaningful ceremony to me! |

Saving a Jew's life on Shabbos if s/he does not observe Shabbos @AdamMosheh you're trying to tell me that we assume a non-Jew will convert but not that a Jew will return? |

What is the kiss of death? All "physical manifestations" attributed to God are euphemistic (Yesodei Hatorah 1:9). Why do you assume otherwise? |

Saving a Jew's life on Shabbos if s/he does not observe Shabbos we know that this statement from Yoma doesn't hold strong nowadays, because we even desecrate shabbat for a non-Jew, who will keep no future shabbatot. |
