@Alex it is THEIR minhag, not that we accepted.

comment List of Techelet Wearers
@avi shouldn't we add "Shlita" to each name? Or to the Gedolim on the list "HaGaon"?

I really believe in this flagging idea, and I bet raabanim would like it as well.

comment Is the Mitzva of Tzitzit on the Gevra or the Cheftza?
@avi you know it's not the same. If someone wears an extra pair of cotton tzitit it's the biggest deal like your house example.

לכבוד הרב אם אמרתי שאני לוקחת על עצמי לא להתקשר לבן אדם עד ש.. ולא אמרתי בלי נדר האם זה נדר שאני צריכה לקיים?

@DoubleAA I understand, but let's say in cold places where people are wearing many layers anyways shouldn't they just wear a few pairs to get the mitzvot?

Also, yes you are correct, but it really depends. The Halachot are very complicated. There is even a Gemara in Gitin about this I believe.

@YDK Exact language: זה לא נדר , כי רק בעניני מצוות זה נדר , ולא בעניני חול .

@Alex I don't believe that's the same thing. Chumros are not Minhagim.

comment Jeans as Hukot HaGoyim
@IsaacMoses Rav Mutzafi is one the most prominent Sefardic Rabbis in the world today, and I didn't see him say anything about chukay hagoyim.

@avi so why don't people wear many pairs of Tzitzit?

My mistake. Your first sentence takes away all doubts.

Actaully, interesting I just read that in Yabia Omer vol. 8 pg. 101 it says that Minhag that wasn't created by a Gadol/Hacham is not a real Minhag. Thus, there would be a problem of Hukot HaGoyim here.

@SethJ hopefully the next time you'll remember :)

comment Why didn't the Tur discuss traditional Jewish philosophy?
See his introduction. I think he clearly states all the things he writes that are not really things that about belief, rather about action.

@SethJ See the answers below and the Magen Avraham 230 and the Mishna Berura 230:7.

@DoubleAA I'm not arguing, I'm asking if each one is separate sechar/mitzva. I'm not in such a lumdisheh mood right now :)

This is also brought down in Mogen Avrohom 230.

Are you implying that if a person wears 10 pairs of Sisit he is only being mekayem on mitzva?
