@ArielK let's be Dan Lechaf Zechut and say that they actually believe that it's required.

@RabbiMichaelTzadok "Kabel et Haemet MiMisheamara- accept the truth from the one who said it." He brings a valid Safek Sefeka regardless if you agree with his other Pesakim. Anyways, he is not a Daat Yahid as he has the Mishne Halachot as well on his side.

And if you'd like I can bring an exhaustive list of Rishonim and Aharonim that don't hold one must check BeEfsharim Levarer.

@ShmuelBrin even according to most the Poskim that hold you still need to check Be'efshar Levarer one doesn't need to check when it's not "Efshar Levarer BeKalut" and I don't think anything that takes a professional to check for would count as BeKalut.

comment How can we strengthen belief in the coming of Moshiach and the end of our exile?

I've heard that the Rambam says that there is no point of learning about what will happen around Mashiach because it "doesn't make one love Hashem or fear Hashem."

comment Why is the Kitzur so much more popular than the Chayey Adam?
Maybe because the name sounds more simple for the regular Baal HaBos.

comment Which Hasidic rabbi has no beard, and what is the story?
To do deal with two of the flaws of this answer. The Hassidut that the Ramhal was discussing was not the Hassidut of the Baal Shem Tov (or even close). Second, since the Ramhal was a great Mekubal, it makes sense to assume that he held like the Zohar which is very strict about keeping a beard.

Aren't there very famous cases when the Raavad completetly ripped the Rambam?

I know a Baal Teshuva who still has a tattoo. He is a Talmid Hacham so it seems that there could be a Heter to keep it.
