Why don't people bentch on a kos nowadays? Rav Yaakov Peres Shelita (Orhot HaRab Ukhilato 3:3:49) quotes the Peri Megadim (Hashoel Im Hanishal Ot 10) writes when Maran (Mechaber) writes two opinions both starting Yesh Omrim he holds like the last. With that in mind, the Shulhan Aruch here writes three opinions and the third says to not even use wine at all. Thus, according to the opinion of Peri Megadim's explanation of the Kelalim of Maran, it seems according to Sephardic customs it's not an obligation. HOWEVER, the Rama writes it is a Miswa min Hamuvchar to do so. |

Can someone have more than one potential soulmate simultaneously? What I'm saying is that he had more than one soulmate, at least according to the Nefesh HaHaim 1:21. |

Is it okay to enjoy Christmas lights? You know, this Shach doesn't necessarily represent the opinion of the Shulhan Aruch. You notice, he quotes the Tosfafot and the Rosh, but that doesn't mean Maran accepts that opinion. As you said before צ"ע. According to Ashkenazim it would be Mutar, and those Sephardim who follow the Ben Ish Hai it may also seem to be Mutar. |

Is it okay to enjoy Christmas lights? נוי means beauty not use of Avoda Zara. It means decorations. Nobody uses decorations to do avoda zara, that's obvious, that's also obvious that Shulhan Aruch was referring to things like xmas lights. |
