one must wash their hands upon arising in the morning. a lot of seforim say that one must wash within 4 amos (aprox 6ft) of their bed. There is another opinion from the gemorah in berochos that allows one to consider his whole house as halachicaly daled amos and meerly needs to go to the nearest sink. I am after a source in the poskim that allows this view as an as acceptable view and not only a good alternative in a difficult situation.

good question - no idea. maybe theyu have other seals etc on freezers. Seems a bit silly to chuck out all the meat if someone breaks the door to steal money from the till

We know from chazal that there certainly precedents for this type of sleep. David HaMelech used to sleep like a horse according to the gemara in brochos. We know reagrding the yeshiva of shem v'ever that the bochrim used to sleep for a few seconds at their shtenders and then carry on.
